Since September, Schlaman has been in the kitchen of the restaurant in Voorst. The head chef brings surprising flavors and new culinary experiences to the table. “Guests can expect an evening where their taste buds will be thoroughly stimulated,” says Schlaman.

Culinary vision and surprises

Kevin Schlaman developed his culinary talent in renowned kitchens across the Netherlands, where he mastered the finer points of the craft and perfected his own style. With his experience and creative vision, Schlaman has become a well-known name in the Dutch culinary scene.

As head chef at Restaurant Intens, he combines this experience with a love for honest, pure flavors and a passion for seasonal and local products. Schlaman works extensively with vegetables, herbs, and flowers. “That creates very exciting flavor combinations. Slow cooking also has a place in my kitchen. In addition, I carefully consider what can be done with the leftovers of a product; not just throwing things away, that’s such a waste. Farmers put a lot of love into it, the animals have had a good life. As chefs, we need to treat that with much more respect. That philosophy is shared by Intens and myself, and it’s a beautiful foundation to make the menu even more flavorful and captivating.”

“I love giving Dutch products a prominent stage,” says Schlaman. “Our Dutch soil offers amazing products. As a chef, I see it as my mission to convince guests of this. A culinary evening isn’t necessarily about expensive and exclusive products; it’s mainly the ingredients from nearby that make a dish unique and full of surprises.”
