Corporate social responsibility is an important theme for Thermen Bussloo. In recent years, we have taken countless measures to permanently increase the sustainability of our resort and our hotel—without ever compromising on quality or comfort for you as our guest. We are determined to make a difference, taking both big and small steps toward our sustainability mission: an energy-positive future for everyone.

For us, sustainability is not a side issue but a core value. That’s why we are proud of our Gold Green Key certification—the highest possible international quality mark for sustainable businesses in tourism and leisure. Every two years, Green Key carries out independent audits, assessing our resort and hotel against strict standards in the fields of environment, sustainability, and corporate social responsibility.

To keep meeting these ambitious standards, Thermen Bussloo has a dedicated Green Key team. They ensure we stay focused on our sustainability goals and continuously work on improvements.

How sustainable is Thermen Bussloo?

At Thermen Bussloo, we are constantly working on sustainable initiatives—many of which are unique in the world of wellness! Here are just a few examples…

As many as 850 solar panels shine on the roofs of our resort and hotel.
Our chefs source ingredients straight from nature—just around the corner from our own herb garden or… ...from our very own bee hotel! With 20,000 chambers filled with 100,000 bees, our in-house beekeeper tends to them several times a week. The result? The most delicious honey (around 160 kg per year!)—perfect for your breakfast, or as part of a soothing body or facial scrub.
A tip for your next walk through our lush sauna garden: take a look at the rooftops of our saunas. They’re all covered with sedum, offering a home to small insects, butterflies, and birds. In a word: biodiversity.
It’s not just you who recharges here—your car does too. With our electric charging stations, sustainability is made easy.
Of course, we also collect plastic bottles, use LED lights and timers, and install water-saving taps and showerheads.

It can always be more sustainable. Focused on keeping our ecological footprint as small as possible, we take responsibility and continue to take big steps toward a greener world. Thermen Bussloo has ambitious plans to become even more sustainable—with more herb gardens, energy buffers, and additional solar panels. Our ambition continues.
